Have you noticed a game being played by many so-called "experts" today?
If the long-held scientific results of studies or the results of newer scientific studies match up with what they want everyone to believe, they tell us to "follow the science". However, if those results don't lead to strengthening their point of view or ideology, they throw away the science and tell us to believe the opposite of those results. They convince some people to disregard the facts because a lot of people won't do the deep research necessary to find the truth and only rely on the "experts" who they hear on television or the radio. And, it must be pointed out, the "experts" on these programs are only those who support the ideology being pushed by various people and groups, while the scientists who show studies that oppose the "experts" are demonized and every attempt is made to discredit them. If anyone argues against their ideology by showing them the scientific facts and discrediting them doesn't work, the "experts" turn to redefining words and phrases or totally denying the proven science of the past.
The threads under this board will be about science, scientific facts, and/or how things are being twisted to fit ideologies. As the tagline from the X-Files, an old television series stated, "The truth is out there". So the question that must be answered is this: are we going to follow the real scientific facts at the risk of being labeled as suffering from some type of phobia or being a science denier or are we going to follow the new scientific facts being used to support current ideologies so that we can live our lives without being called names or demonized even as those ideologies are leading to the destruction of economies, governments, cultures, and freedoms?
